Recording of Mimicry and Memories completed

A post on Electric Six’s official Facebook page has confirmed that recording and mixing of the upcoming Kickstarter compilation is complete, with March still pencilled in as the availability date.

See the full quote below.

Crazies…the “Mimcry & Memories” project continues to march toward completion. Recording is done…mixing is completed…mastering is near the finish line. Books have been compiled and ordered. Mixtapes and remixes are in the can. Dinners have been held and private concerts have been performed.

We draw closer to the point we can share all of this with those of you who participated in and supported this project. We’re still looking to be on track for a mailout in March and we’ll keep you posted.

Electric Six Hit Appears on BBC Dance Show

On Saturday 1st November the Strictly Come Dancing band did their own version of Electric Six’s breakthrough hit ‘Danger! High Voltage’ as Pixie Lott and her dance partner Trent Whiddon danced the tango to get them through to the next round of the hit BBC reality dance show.

Electric Six proposes special vinyl collection

Electric Six have posted a question on their Facebook page, gathering opinion on whether fans would buy a special collection of ten vinyls – covering all the major albums from ‘Senor Smoke’ to ‘Human Zoo’.

The fan reaction seems to have been overall positive.

See below for the full post.

A question for Crazies…if Electric Six were to offer a special, limited edition set of all 10 of the Metropolis era albums (counting “Human Zoo”) on 180 gramvinyl, with unique artwork (so different artwork than the vinyl editions which were released previously in the instances where vinyl was done), is that something a Crazy would be interested in? As a set, mind you, not individual albums. Feedback would be appreciated. Figure around $200-$250 (plus shipping) as a price point for 10 albums.

Worldwide Vinyl Crunch Hits Electric Six “Human Zoo”

According to a series of posts on the Electric Six Facebook page the vinyl for their latest album ‘Human Zoo’ will only be available to buy online and at selected UK gigs until possibly spring 2015 for the USA due to a shortage of capacity in vinyl pressers that has meant the latest album is to be pressed in the UK.

See below for the full posts.

A public service announcement for all Crazies who have interest in Electric Six vinyl…due to circumstances beyond our or Metropolis Records’ control, we will not have vinyl copies of “Human Zoo” available for purchase during our upcoming September/October dates. The short version of the long story is that there are relatively few vinyl pressing plants left in the world and with resurgent interest in vinyl from consumers, they’re all overworked and thus timelines end up getting extended for everyone. In fact, it’s so bad that “Human Zoo” isn’t even being pressed in the US. However, the good news is that you can pre-order the vinyl at the link below, regardless of where you live on this great big planet, and Metropolis will deliver it unto you. We have been assured that vinyl available via mail order will be ready to ship on the release date (October 14).

We anticipate (contingent upon availability) having vinyl at our US and Canadian shows in the spring of 2015. To head off the inevitable questions from Europeans, no, we do not anticipate having them for sale at European shows, so if you’re interested, your best option is to order via Metropolis.

_________

Crazies of the UK…Electric Six is modifying its message from below regarding vinyl in one key way. Electric Six WILL in fact have a limited amount of vinyl available for sale at its UK shows in November and December. Thank the Worldwide Vinyl Crunch which necessitates production of “Human Zoo” vinyl on your continent.
